Kern Canyon is a beautiful wilderness located in Bakersfield where you can take advantage of camping, hiking, fishing and other similar activities. The actual canyon itself was formed by the Kern River and it connects the Southern San Joaquin Valley with the Kern River Valley. Owens’ was the creator of the Bakersfield sound of country music.
