- #1 Best College Athletics in AmericaUniversity of FloridaGainesville, FL·4 Year·Rating 3.92 out of 5 8,109 reviewsSophomore: In my short time at the University of Florida, I have had a stellar experience. Despite being a fully online student for the first three semesters, I have been able to thoroughly enjoy campus life to its full extent. I have actively been on campus, going to sporting events, and participating with classmates in on-campus life. I have absolutely adored going to sporting events and being a part of standard college life. The atmosphere of being around fellow students while cheering for the Florida Gators in football, baseball, softball, or basketball. I also frequently go to the library to study on campus. Since I live off-campus and only take online classes (for the time being), being able to participate and feel like a normal college student is a feeling that has been so unbelievably important to me over the past few semesters. There are a handful of things that I do want to see changed, however. There is a lot of construction on campus that needs to be finished as soon as possible.... With a mix of great academics, athletics, and campus programs I could not be happier anywhere else. The majority of individuals who complain about Clemson life do NOT represent the majority here at Clemson. Clemson has a unique atmosphere where you can tell the majority of students prioritize their academics unlike other campuses I have been to. Additionally, I have never met a rude person at Clemson. Everyone is open, kind, and willing to offer academic or personal advice. Also, the career center on campus has been number one in the nation several times and can almost guarantee you work. As an ME student my academics are quite challenging compared to some of my other friends who are ME at other universities, however, I think that the numerous programs, academics, and athletics Clemson offers makes for the perfect college experience!... From the general area to student life and the local area, I met life-long friends in the dorm, in class, in the spiritual and Christian campus fellowships, cultural groups, choirs, and even off-campus. The professors and department workers were accessible and easy to get along with. They were knowledgeable, caring and helpful. If I had to go back and choose again, I would definitely choose this same school. Up 'til my final year, I did not have summer school experience, so I chose to take a few summer school courses and stay on campus, just to see what it was like. Getting an A was even easier for me during the summer, and since the student population was smaller, we seemed even closer and got to know more people better. However, all of the amazing faculty at Ohio State made it super easy to transition to a new school. I was able to get involved with student organizations from day one of being on campus. I love how many different ways there are to get involved; there truly is something for everyone here. Since it is a larger school, it is a little more dependent on your own self to get involved and take advantage of all the things that are offered. The "weirdness" of Austin jumps out at you in the best way. The countless times I've gone to the groovy thrift stores or south Congress Ave with friends have been some of the best moments of my young life. The culture at UT is one of a kind as well. I feel that every person attending college feels a certain amount of pride in their school, like its a part of their identity almost. With UT its that and then some. Being from Maryland, experiencing the lone star state has been otherworldly. The pride in Texans and in the school is like no other, and it has certainly rubbed of on me. Though I am only a sophomore I am a Longhorn though and through! On top of the great city, the larger than life students, the sports and the like, UT is an academic institution first. If you're looking for an involved community I highly recommend living there. It is a two-year contract, but definitely worth it. Overall professors are nice and they enjoy what they are teaching. There are also so many clubs and events throughout the year so you're never bored. The best dining hall is 100% East Village. Penland is good depending on what you get, but sometimes meat is undercooked and there was an issue at the beginning of the year where people got food poisoning from it. Brooks has the best staff, and Memo has a couple of good stations but mostly is pretty mid. The one drawback for me was I only had the opportunity to live on campus for one semester. - #21 Best College Athletics in AmericaSyracuse UniversitySyracuse, NY·4 Year·Rating 3.65 out of 5 3,599 reviewsOther: I experienced Syracuse University as a high-schooler via multiple summer on-campus courses. I saw firsthand the care and passion the faculty, professors, and students all had for the college. The lifestyle was fast-paced, with something happening every minute. I found it impossible not to go out because there was always something to do, whether it be various events held by the school, ping-pong games held in the lounges, or just enjoying the campus with friends. I've already committed to Syracuse University and am very excited to see what the next chapter of my life holds.... - #22 Best College Athletics in AmericaUniversity of Notre DameNotre Dame, IN·4 Year·Rating 3.98 out of 5 1,436 reviewsAlum: Overall loved my time at Notre Dame. The quality of the academics and research opportunities is great. Socially there's also a lot of fun things to do on campus and around South Bend. Downsides for me was that there's not a ton of diversity and the weather can be rough in the winter, but that's really it!... - #23 Best College Athletics in AmericaStanford UniversityStanford, CA·4 Year·Rating 4.1 out of 5 1,288 reviewsGraduate Student: Attending Stanford has been a mix of excitement and challenges. Going to games is a blast, with plenty of sports activities. Professors are generally great but lean politically one way, limiting viewpoint diversity. As a research-focused institution, one-on-one time with professors is limited, though humanities professors are more approachable. Lecturers are decent, reflecting the research emphasis.Campus life can be slow, so finding your group is crucial. The campus is huge and beautiful, with great weather and all necessary amenities. The social scene is limited, and Palo Alto, though affluent, is not very exciting. San Francisco and Oakland are 45 minutes to an hour away, offering more entertainment options. However, most students stay on campus due to the distance and heavy workload, contributing to the "Stanford bubble." Overall, Stanford offers great opportunities, but you need to find your niche to make the most of it.... - #24 Best College Athletics in AmericaUniversity of KentuckyLexington, KY·4 Year·Rating 3.75 out of 5 4,023 reviewsSophomore: My first year at University of Kentucky was great. There were many events to help the freshman, including myself to get involved with the many things the university provides. The first week before classes started was known as K-Week where many different activities were hosted by many of the University's associations, meeting new friends and gain familiar faces. Campus nis very welcoming and provided a safe experience. Throughout the school year many associations provided activities to all years to bring out joy during a busy school year. Football, baseball, and basketball allowed be to experience how prideful the school is and how a very diverse community can come together to support the thing we all love and enjoy.... - #25 Best College Athletics in AmericaNorth Dakota State UniversityFargo, ND·4 Year·Rating 3.79 out of 5 1,329 reviewsAlum: I found very welcoming people within my major and professors who knew my name. The clubs and events were great and it is even easy to start your own club. I miss the wellness center everyday, you won't find wellness centers like that in other colleges (especially the aquatic center). There are also tons of opportunities leadership positions (great for your resume), on-campus jobs, and housing. The campus is even small enough to walk from on side to the other without freezing, although, make sure to invest in a good winter coat....
