The franchise, John Wick, started with John seeking revenge on the powerful people who destroyed the last gift from his wife, a puppy. In the fourth chapter, he fights against those who left him to die.
According to the official trailer, John Wick: Chapter 4 comes with new management, rules, ideas, and challenges. John knows his deceased wife may not listen to him. Yet, he keeps remembering her. Similarly, he knows death is waiting for him. Yet, he decides to fight. After a one-to-one combat with Marquis Vincent De Gramont, he might come alive or get buried.
John Wick: Chapter 4 got written by Michael Finch and Shay Hatten. Chad Stahelski is the director and producer as well. The other two producers are Erica Lee and Basil Iwanyk. The lead actors are Keanu Reaves, Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgård, Laurence Fishburne, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Shamier Anderson.

John Wick: Chapter 4 Plot
In the fourth chapter, John goes to Morocco and kills the one head of the evils. As a result, Marquis gives Winston, the manager working in the hotel ‘New York Continental,’ and his assistant, Charon, the freedom to kill John.
When Winston fails to kill John, Marquis detains him from the job, destroys the hotel, and kills Charon. He goes to Paris and hires John’s old blind friend and the assassin to kill John or see his daughter getting murdered.
Meanwhile, John hides in his friend’s, Shimazu Koji’s, hotel Osaka Continental. Marquis’ lieutenant comes to the hotel searching for John. A melee fight occurs there, and John gets helped by Mr. Nobody to escape the hotel.
Winston sends John’s message for one-to-one combat to Marquis. However, Marquis tries hard to stop John from reaching the combat location by offering a reward of $26 million to the one who catches him. On the other hand, Caine and Mr. Nobody assists John in facing the challenges sent by Marquis.
John gets ready to look better, which gets done while getting married or buried. Keanu Reeves, being peaceful in real life, acts violent as John in the movie. Only one can survive between him and Marquis. John will gain freedom if he wins and death if he loses.
First, Caine fights against John on behalf of Marquis. John gets injured after two rounds of combat. Seeing it, Marquis swaps place with Caine and ends up getting shot by John at a closer range. Freedom has been achieved but at what cost? John succumbs to injuries, and the sequence of his life goes through his eyes. John’s tombstone can be seen next to that of his wife, Helen, in the next scene.
Chances Of Having John Wick: Chapter 5
John Wick: Chapter 5 has not been announced officially yet. However, the fourth and the fifth chapters were expected to get released back to back, according to an announcement made in 2020. The popularity of the fourth chapter leads to higher expectations for the next one.
Chapter 5 gets expected to be a prequel because John dies in the fourth chapter. On the one hand, some viewers might think that making a prequel will be an artificial way to place one more chapter. On the other hand, making a sequel will be ironic as John’s tombstone is shown in the climax.
However, we have not seen John’s dead body. It was only the tombstone. So, John may reappear in the sequel hiding or changing his real identity. He might remain dormant for the characters in the movie but not for the viewers because bringing a new actor by removing Keanu Reeves will be the worst option.
John Wick: Chapter 4 DVD Release Date
John Wick: Chapter 4 is a 169-minute-long movie released on 24 March 2023 in the US and 06 March 2023 in London. The distributor is Lionsgate, and the production companies are 87Eleven Productions, Thunder Road Films, and Summit Entertainment.
The DVD and Blu-ray of the movie get expected to get released in August 2023. However, you may pre-order them now on Amazon at $19.96 each. Shipping fees depend on your location. The DVD will get arrived at your place right after the release.
