This article is about the Reworked Tori Tori no Mi, Model: Phoenix. For the first/old version, see Tori Tori no Mi, Model: Phoenix (OLD).
The Tori Tori no Mi, Model: Phoenix (Bird-Bird Fruit) is a Mythical Zoan-type Devil Fruit which bestows the power to transform into a phoenix (and phoenix hybrid) at will.
The model looks like a glowing blue and orange fruit, with feather-like leaves. It was also the first animated devil fruit model.
The Tori Tori no Mi was the first Mythical fruit added to the game, as of Update 5,
As a special Mythical Zoan Type, it's been given a "Zoan Bar" that grants the user addition passive healing when injured.
However, compared to your standard "Logia Bar", it has only 10 uses and recharges much slower.
It heals back 30% of the damage that had been dealt to you after 5 seconds, no matter the damage source, as long as you have at least one or more "Zoan Bar" left.

Pros[]
- High Damage
- "Zoan Bar" heals back 30% of all damage done back to you, allowing for users to survive much longer in fights.
- Passive Zoan Bar regeneration.
- Has a combo extender move in Base Form.
- Immortal Thistle works similarly to Tekkai meaning that users of the fruit can withstand the damage of hard to dodge ultimate moves such Suna Suna no Mi's "Desert Railgun" or Goro Goro no Mi's "Thunder Greeting".
- 11 unique total moves, giving versatility on par with Dragon Claw's with just 90 stats into Devil Fruit.
- Immortal Thistle is stated to be around twice as strong as Rokushiki's "Tekkai" when in Full Form, meaning you can tank even higher amounts of damage.
- Healing no longer takes% stamina, meaning you can heal much more with more stamina.
- Reliable for Hybrid builds in PVP, as Talon Barrage can deal good damage even with just 300~ points into Devil Fruit and it combo extends.
- Stated to have the highest fire damage of any fruit in the game, which allows it to out-damage other high DPS fruits such as Venom and Pika despite the moves not dealing as much damage.
- Phoenix Burst has a short cooldown of only 10 seconds.
- One of, if not the best fruit in the game, for dungeons and raids such as Impel Down, as you just stay in form and spam Phoenix Burst to clear waves of NPCs and cheese bosses while taking close to no damage.
- Due to this, it is currently one of the easiest fruits to solo dungeons and raids with, despite taking a considerably long time. (Was nerfed for no reason.)
Cons[]
- Weak attacks such as DoT effects (i.e. Burn and Poison) or multi-hit attacks that deal low damage per hit such as Kiribachi's "Kiribachi Frenzy" or Gravity Blade's "Gravity Frenzy" can waste "Zoan Bar" as it doesn't have a set amount of healing. Just 30% of the original damage you took which can only heal 10 hits at Max.
- Going into Full Form forces you to do an animation that leaves you vulnerable to attacks and can ruin combos due to its long wind-up.
- People fallout of "Triple Talon kick" after update 8's update that nerfed the hitbox.
- You can't stay in the full form forever.
- Fruit has many ground-based attacks and is therefore terrible for aerial combat. (I.E bad for mera flight, suna flight, geppoing players, which tends to happen in battle royale and main game.)
- Both transformations have end-lag.
- Forms don't take knock-back.
- Can't de-transform during stun, therefore forces you to take all hits of Mera Mera no Mi's "Flame pillar" and many others.
- Can't use form for combos.
- Phoenix Brand deals low damage, making Phoenix Burst the only reliable move for grinding, as Phoenix Dive Bomb has despite dealing high damage has a 60 sec cooldown. Also lacks moves in base form, making it annoying to fight without form.
Tips & Tricks[]
- When using Phoenix brand, try to hold it for a short time to mess up people trying to perfect block it.
- If you get perfect blocked or hit by a freezing move such as Pheasant Beak while holding Talon Barrage, keep holding it since it won't stop the move, and you can avoid getting punished.
- Learn to White Walk, since Talon Barrage can be used after white walking instead of doing only 4 m1s and up-tilting.
Trivia[]
- The user doesn't need to be in Hybrid Form to go Full Form, simply holding "Z" will skip the Hybrid Form and bring them straight to Full Form.
- This is the first fruit to be reworked AFTER release (added in Update 2, reworked in Update 7).
- Tori's healing scales on Devil Fruit Mastery.
- The fruit is commonly referred to as just Tori, which means bird in Japanese (鳥).
- It is the only fruit to have its mode bar charge passively.
- M1'ing people in half and full form will still charge your mode bar.
- Since Update 8, Half and Full form no longer drains stamina and instead drains a separate mode bar.
